  The terrn "Catholic Church" is used interchangeably to mean:
  
  a.) Roman Catholic Church (RCC)

  b.) Universal Body of Believers (UBB)
  
  They are different. It causes confusion to use the same term which refers to different things. I believe that such discussions as this would be better served by using acronyms such as RCC & UBB.
  
  Could you go along with that Aqwsed ? If not, why not?

  JW light Elders?

  so many elders are now saying no to pretty much everything.. they are saying no to assignments and away talks.

  saying no to jobs in the cong.

  the cos and the super fine elders are using scripture and the elders manual to try to persuade them to step up.. many are coming off as an elder, but even more are simply saying the cost of living or other reasons they are just finding it hard to fulfill all their assignments.. if you say you want to come off the public talks list altogether they still try putting you down for some and making a fuss saying you have to give some public talks.

  It all made perfect sense when the eye-witnesses remembered that Jesus predicted that he would resurrect himself from the dead. After he did something that ONLY God could do, they knew he was Yahweh, manifested in the flesh. Everyone in fact knows this, they just suppress it. Unsaved people are ashamed of a God like this. They want a big-shot God, not a lowly suffering Friend.

  They may try to dismiss it as mental illness, but that means that a very large number of mentally sick people are partaking of the wine and crackers each year.

  Good point. This is probably why they made a change in recent years separating the GB from the anointed. Previously, it was the anointed who were going to rule the world through the WT corporation. Now, it's just the GB and their "helpers".
  
  The result is that the 20K partakers can still be characterized as mentally ill and it doesn't give the appearance that the inmates are running the asylum.

  The bottom line is that they promised a superior product than what Jesus was offering:

  Unending Life vs. Resurrection (which requires a death first)

  I believe that it really is that simple. But the question still remains:

  What kept so many on the hamster wheel after everyone died anyway?

  The Watchtower lied to people in the 1920 booklet and convention series titled "Millions Now Living Will Never Die!" It announced that millions of people alive at that time would not die before experiencing the end of the current world system and living forever on a paradise earth.
  
  So the false hope of avoiding death, is what started the whole scheme of Jehovah’s Witnesses seducing people into rejecting the new covenant “for the forgiveness of sins”.

  The “Jonadabs” were not even considered to be “Jehovah’s witnesses” originally. (See The Watchtower, August 15, 1934, page 249

  Nor were they saved in the new testament sense:

  The..."other sheep"... are...not even justified" - Wt. 38 pgs. 104-105

  In other words, the “great crowd” still carry their deadly sin debt and are not covered by the blood in the new covenant “for the forgiveness of sins” (See Mt. 26: 27–28)

  Jesus is not their Mediator according to church leadership:

  So, instead of being resurrected, which is the Christian hope based on Jesus' resurrection as a guarantee, they simply offered a better deal.... one that basically said: "Why get resurrected? You don't even have to die if you join our church".
